Just Write Texas
Imagine… Being part of a small group of writers who come together for a week to create, laugh, share, and accomplish more on your book projects than you ever expected.
Just Write Retreat- March 18-25, 2018
Deep in the heart of Texas!
If you feel stuck, isolated and concerned that you will never finish your book, stop suffering and join me for a writing retreat. I’ve been a writing coach/publisher for 15 years and have found that spending time face-to-face and heart-to-heart in a retreat is the very best way to make progress on your book. It doesn’t matter if you are writing a novel or a non fiction book, have just an idea or are somewhere in the middle of your work in progress, spending time away from your busy life surrounded by nature and other writers will help you.
Imagine spending 7 days and 7 nights focusing on your book!
You’ll leave the retreat with more confidence, fresh ideas, and new friends who will support you and your writing long after the retreat concludes.
I went to Lynne’s writing retreat wondering if I should maybe have just stayed home. I left the retreat feeling so glad I went! Lynne is masterful at intuiting what is needed. My writing became richer, I became confident in it, and I learned a lot about the industry of books too. Not to mention, it was fun! The daily writing activities were enriching, sharing with other authors was inspiring, Lynne’s leadership was strong yet gentle. She’s one smart lady! My novel got solidly off the ground. ~Natasha Solovieff
Here are the Details
The Just Write Retreat will be held in a lovely executive home in the stunning Texas Hill Country, just north of San Antonio. The panoramic views, fresh air, warm temperatures, and peaceful sounds of nature will refresh your soul and inspire you to write.
There will be just 6 writers at this retreat so you’ll get plenty of attention and support.
Your experience will begin the afternoon of Sunday, March 18. You can arrive any time after 3 pm. We’ll have dinner together and start the retreat that evening.
During the week we’ll gather for breakfast and daily writing sessions, discussions, and fun events. We will laugh often and maybe cry a bit when we talk about meaningful things. We’ll also go out for some fun, including a trip to the Alamo and San Antonio’s famous River Walk area.
There will be plenty of time each day to work on your writing. I’ll be available for coaching and support when you need it. You’ll also be able to get feedback on your ideas from your fellow writers. It will feel like you’ve stepped out of your busy life into a cocoon of creativity.
I’ll be cooking breakfast and one other meal each day along with plenty of snacks. We’ll go out for dinner or lunch each day for the remaining meal. I love to cook almost as much as I love to write and was a grand champion cook/baker in my past. It will be my pleasure to prepare delicious meals and nurture you so that you can devote all your energy to creating your book. I will do my best to work with any special dietary needs you may have.
The retreat will conclude at 10 am on Sunday, March 25th. You’ll leave with fond memories and a clear plan to continue your writing progress. You’ll also have made significant progress on getting your book done!
Lynne’s writers retreat saved my book project. I had been working on my book for several years and had really lost all momentum. I was just about ready to trash it. The truest truth is I didn’t even really want to go on this retreat. It seemed like a lot of money to spend on a project I was so sick of. I made a lot of promises to myself about what I need to get done before I went, and of course did not. If I could have found a graceful way to get out of it, I would have. Something truly miraculous happened there. I made amazing progress on my book and now I can say with certainly, it will get done. It will be good and I will be able to find the people who need it. If any of this sounds remotely like you, PLEASE go! Whatever you have to bring to it is enough. Lynne has an amazing way of helping you connect to your best self. The atmosphere she will help you create is perfect. I am so grateful that I showed up, in spite of myself. ~Sally Ross Brown
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: May I bring a guest or share a room?
A: This retreat is all about you! Having a private space and plenty of time to write is essential for your success so no guests or room sharing. Each writer will have a private bedroom.
Q: Can I stay in touch with my family/clients?
A: Yes, the house is equipped with wifi so that you can check in with others as needed, although you’ll be encouraged to devote as much time to writing as possible.
Q: Are you going to try to sell me something?
A: Yuck! The only thing I will sell you on is your value as a writer. I guarantee you’ll have a deeper belief in the worth of your writing and your ideas by the time you complete the retreat.
Q: What if I register and then change my mind?
A: This will probably happen. Once you decide to honor yourself and your book by attending the retreat, doubts will creep in that will make you want to give up and chicken out. For that reason, no refunds will be made unless you have an real emergency, such as an illness or death in the family. If you must cancel for an actual emergency, I’ll do our best to fill your spot with someone from the waiting list and offer you a reasonable partial refund.
Please don’t register unless you are willing to make a solid commitment to your book and attend the retreat, even if you are a little scared. Being scared means you are ready to step up and risk sharing your ideas in a book. If you weren’t a little uncomfortable, you wouldn’t be growing.
Q: Must I have a book in progress to attend?
A: No. It’s okay if you have an idea for your book but don’t know how to begin. By the time you leave the retreat, you’ll have an outline and maybe even a couple of chapters written.
Q: Will I have to read my book aloud and suffer group critiques?
A: No. You’ll be able to keep your book project protected during this event. There will be no judging or comparison. You will be invited to share some of the writing you do during our group writing exercises in a way that will build your confidence. If you want feedback on your book project, you’ll have plenty of time to share it privately with me or with individuals at the retreat if you wish.
Q: What’s the investment?
A: Your investment for the 7 day/7 night event, two daily meals and snacks, and your private lodging will be $2060, just $295 per day. That means you’ll spend less each day than one telephone coaching session!
Q: Is there a payment plan?
A: Yes, you can make 5 payments of $429. All payments must be received by March 1, 2018.
Q: I have more questions. Can we talk?
A: Sure. Click here to schedule a phone conversation and I’ll be glad to answer your questions.
Sometimes you meet someone seemly by accident. However, there is a philosophy that there are no accidents and the people that show up in our lives are there to help us understand something. Lynne Klippel is one of those people. It took me a while to understand the gifts she was bringing. I have a lot of creative energy, but with that came more noise than crafted product. I have written much, files full, but it wasn’t until this last Writer’s Retreat with Lynne Klippel at the helm that I finally got it. She used her magic to help me lay out a clear and simple path to utilize my wealth of material and move forward successfully to the completion of my next book. Maybe it is her always loving kindness and generosity, perhaps it is her keen insight into what is needed and how to communicate that to the writers or maybe it is simply her leadership in applying her expertise to make others successful. My conclusion is that it is all the above and I am deeply grateful for her gifts. ~ Jimm Hughey, M.S. Author
